The myth-Château Margaux

First of all, Happy Christmas and happy new year to all readers...We wish you an excellent 2012.

At the very end of 2011, we had the privilege to visit the myth-Chateau Margaux. The chateau is a myth because of its modesty and reputation of perfectionism on wine producing quality. The estate is the synonym for elegance, finesse and perfection in the wine industry.

'Brilliantly consistent wine of stunning grace, richness and complexity.' described by the world leading wine critic Robert Parker.

Let us reveal the myths.

Chateau Margaux is a French Louis XIV dollhouse, c. 1650. It was designed and built by Larry Osborn and Jon Fish of Good Foundations, completed in 1998. s show you the myths.

Château Margaux was one of four wines to achieve the first growth status in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855. The estate enjoy a unique "terroir" richly endowed by nature. terroir stood for the idea that a plot of land, because of its specific microclimate and soil, determined a wine's distinctive character. So this particularly fine terroir gives the Château Margaux some strong characteristics such as elegance, finesse, complexity and balance...

Château Margaux owns 250 hectares. 170 hectares of the estate were taken up by the estate, forests, and meadows for cattle that produced natural fertilizers for the remaining carefully selected 80 hectares vineyard. the composition varied from year to year, but in general, the wine is consisting of around 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.

For the 1st growth wine,Chateau Margaux, the estate uses 100% oak barrique to garantee the taste of the wine.

The philosophy of the estate is : produce less but guarantee the best. They are extremely selective during the vintage.

(Every body are so looking forward to taste the wine, all eyes on the glasses)

 Notes:
Chateau Margaux 2008

The wine reflects a color of lovely intense violet which indicates its age.

The nose is strong, delicate and intense. You can hardly tell what are the aromas inside the glass.Because you can smell a bunch of diversified aromas and they are so mixed up and so balcanced that you just can't tell exatcly what are they.

The mouth is balanced, elegance and relativly soft for a wine from the left river of Bordeaux. Still, I'm impressed by the diversity of the aromas prensented in the wine. The tanin is elegantly soft and pleasurable. Somehow, i believe the 2008 vintage should be conserved at less 10 years in oder to explore the best of its potential.

The finish shows a good longevity. The red fruits flavors remains in the mouth for more than 5 seconds.

I've enjoyed it.
Again, hope you like our topic.
Happy new year to all our readers!!
